The Spanish brand of avant-garde design boats bets on northern Portugal to manufacture its eight models

Barcelona’s brand De Antonio Yachts, which in just four years has revolutionized the market of motor sport boats, will start in a few weeks to build their innovative models in the Portuguese facilities of Estaleiros do Atlantico Lda, with the goal of doubling the production volume for next year.

With three sheds totaling 15,000 square meters and a highly specialized staff and with more than 20 years of experience, this shipyard located on the northern border with Spain, 20 minutes from Vigo international airport, will assume from now on the De Antonio Yachts production. The brand will maintain its headquarters in the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona for the technical, commercial, design and marketing management.

The Portuguese company will increase its workforce to meet the orders of the Spanish brand, which in 2017 is expected to reach 22 units – the production is exclusively on demand-.

We are very excited about this new stage -explains Marc de Antonio, creator and designer of the company through his design studio Ubica-id-, which will allow us to meet the production demands we have, increasingly growing, and also ensure the construction quality. The shipyard is fully equipped with a pool testing facility, cranes and numerical control cutting machines, among others, and have a lot of experience and a great production capacity“.

De Antonio Yachts was founded in Barcelona in late 2012 with the creation of its first model, the D23 Open, which soon became a benchmark for its innovative design of straight lines, ingenious solutions and navigation features. In 2015 it launched the models D23 Tender and D23 Cruiser, plus its older siblings the D33 Cruiser and D43 Cruiser. During 2016, De Antonio Yachts has consolidated its distribution network internationally and has manufactured the first units of the new model D33 Open. It also has designed the new D43 Open and prepared the presentation of the D28, available from 2017. With eight models launched in just four years, is the only Spanish shipyard with continuous presence in the most important international boat shows.

Since its inception, the brand led by Marc de Antonio and Stanislas Chmielewski has doubled its turnover year by year, and with the new production plant expects to have a turnover of more than 4 million euros next year.

Stanislas Chmielewski added: “We are proud to have created a brand in just four years. Now we want to continue to grow because, despite being a very young company, we have very high commercial expectations. In 2017 we will launch the D28, which we expect will be one of the best sellers of the range, and the US market can give us a very good response“.

The Spanish company currently exports 70% of its production to the United States, Australia, France, Great Britain, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
