Bering Yachts reveals B165, a fundamentally new explorer yacht

A new type of Bering explorer yacht, B165 gives you a seamless connection to nature. Firstly introduced at the Dubai International Boat Show, she keeps all the ruggedness, stability, range, and all-weather capability while representing a Mediterranean and Caribbean approach to life – easy-going, relaxed, and full of comfort. You are still traveling in your home, but with so much more open space and fresh air that the onboard life becomes a full-circle indoor and outdoor experience. Taking the best of two worlds, you will feel protected by the heavy steel hull and design concepts that are second to none, at the same time enjoying life around a pool or by a fireplace under the bright stars.

Though a deviation from the traditional brutal explorers, B165 still is a Bering to the bone but with a luxury twist. The main deck boasts unique features. A sizable swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds is located at an elongated aft deck, whose space can be further increased thanks to unfolding bulwarks. When not in use, the covered pool can serve as a storage area for water toys and equipment. Two tenders can be placed on the aft. The interior area includes two VIP suites and a separate dining and lounge area. A main lounge with a large dining table for 12 will provide a family-like dining experience. A room on the bow can serve as a movie theater or as an additional guest cabin.

Another distinctive feature of B165 is a roomy owner deck with almost 70m2 of interior space. It sports a 32m2 stateroom with a large bathroom area and a 34m2 sky lounge equipped with a bar, a table, and plenty of seating. An open zone aft features a large table for alfresco dining. A lounge with a Jacuzzi is located on the bow. A private service room can be used to prepare and serve meals. The food elevator connects it with a similar service area on the main deck and with a galley on the lower deck.

Living accommodations on the lower deck include 3 guest rooms, a crew mass, and 4 cabins, which can host up to 8 crew members. Also, there is one more cabin that can accommodate two additional personnel such as nanny, guide, masseur, and so on. The spacious main galley with plenty of storage is also located on this deck along with the enormous engine room.

Bering 165 is made to be eco-friendly. Says Alexei Mikhailov, the company’s founder: “We are building responsibly. Designing a large engine room, we definitely had alternative energy solutions in mind. There is plenty of space to accommodate hybrid applications and install a big battery bank.” At a projected 49.4-meter length, the new boat will have a beam of 9 meters with a gross tonnage of 499 GT. It will be powered by two Caterpillar C32 engines with 1,300 HP each, which will propel this steel and aluminum boat to 12 knots of cruise and 15 knots of maximum speed. 70,000 liters of fuel guarantees an over 4,000 nautical miles range. Stable travel for 12 onboard guests will be ensured by the advanced ABT TRAC systems.

The bridge deck features an additional lounge equipped with a sit-up bar, an outside movie theater, a dayhead, and a firepit. Captain’s quarters and a wheelhouse are also located here. A step above the bridge is a crow’s nest, a private space on a hard top with an unobstructed 360 degree view.

Citing Valentin Design, a Swiss company responsible for the exterior design, “Bering 165 epitomizes a distinctive crossover explorer, seamlessly blending the practicality and adaptability of a genuine transoceanic vessel with the refined allure and sophistication inherent in a design focused on experiential motor yachting”.
